So it has already been 9 months of gr.12 and we are approaching exams and almost finished the period of culminating projects. Thank goodness that culminating is almost done then I just have to study for exams and I have summer to enjoy/work. But one thing is that it was just September and now it is almost June and that just goes to show how fast time goes. Who can’t wait for summer? ME! Then there is no stupid culminating projects and exams. I personally don’t mind tests or small projects but culminating projects just annoy me! So most students who are in gr.12 this year are finally done but I’m not because I am going back for a 5th year and I might possibly be taking 7 courses next year (ugh). I wish I was 18 then I could pick my own courses but for now, I have to pick what my parents want! (ugh). Well, I don’t think there is that much to write on the topic of the school year being done so I leave you with a word! YEAH!

The food in Pakistan is usually spicy and usually involves having a type of bread called naan with your dinner. Pakistanis usually have lots of beef with their dinner which is why they have the naan. For breakfast, you would likely have white rice with milk dish called kheer which Pakistanis love. I didn’t like the rice kheer so I usually ate cereal which my cousins bought for me from the superstore near their home. Throughout the day since I couldn’t stand the spice of the food, I would eat oranges with salt and apples which is possible because vegetables and fruits are fresh but I highly recommend you don’t drink water because you can get very sick. I recommend that you like spicy food or can stand eating it but if you cannot, there are other restaurants like KFC which is what I ate mostly for dinner.

Transportation and traffic are very likely because you can buy cars in Pakistan like Hyundai and Honda with rupees. If you don’t want to buy a car, you can always rent a car for the time that you are in Pakistan for and there are a ton of taxis that always come to you asking if you want a ride and rides are usually a few dollars or about 100 rupees. Be very careful if you manage to get a motorcycle because the traffic in cities like Rawalpindi is horrible and the only advantage of using a motorcycle is the fact that you can weave between cars that waiting to move. My family had a motorcycle which I rode on and it was very fun being able to weave around cars.

There is not a huge variety of sports found in Pakistan but there is one sport in particular called cricket that you will see lots of kids and even adults playing in the streets or fields. Cricket is the game of Pakistan just like hockey is Canada’s game. In addition, you might see the occasional field hockey player because Pakistan used to rule field hockey but recently, they have not been doing so good.

Weather in Pakistan is hot all throughout the year though summer is when it is hottest. Temperatures can hit around mid 40s when its summertime but always expect rain and thunderstorms and since it is so hot, don’t be surprised if you see people dancing in the rain enjoying it. I tried it when I was there and it was fun getting wet and feeling cooler after boiling from the hot weather.

The capital city Islamabad is in my own opinion awesome because there are rows of stores in a marketplace which has everything from jewellery to food like burgers and hot dogs all halal of course. It has beautiful trees and has a business part which has buildings that a business sector would have. It has a small zoo in which there are a number of animals like monkeys and peacocks as well as a museum which I went to and found fascinating. There is also a mosque you can go to called the Fai’sal Mosque which is huge and beautiful with walkways and flowers all over.

Animals are the last component of Pakistan because in the streets, you will see lots of stray cats and monkeys. My family found a stray cat and took it home and I would play with it every time I went to their house and it would charge at me to try to scratch me but I would dodge. I also met a stray cat at a marketplace in Islamabad which looked burnt so we gave it milk or at least tried to but the cat didn’t want the milk.

Overall, Pakistan has amazing scenery, tourist attractions and very hot weather in the summer but I have had lots of awesome experiences here. I recommend that the reader comes to Pakistan but only if the bombings stop.

So this is a blog about LOST and it is every category that we have to complete a blog about except being a piece of writing but LOST was known around the world as an awesome show which is why it is world events, literature and movies because LOST was a show that ended on Sunday with the thrilling and fun series finale though my mom didn’t like the final 30 minutes of it with the church and the afterlife timeline. It is a personal response because I am going to write about what I thought about LOST and it is a rant because like in my title, I wish they had done another season to explain EVERYTHING and leave nothing untied.

This picture is of Jack dying in the final scene of the final episode of LOST with Vincent the dog nearby. Jack’s actor Matthew Fox claims repeatedly that he knew that this was how Lost was going to end from the beginning. I believe him.

So, to really start my talking blog about LOST off, I am going to talk about LOST obviously. I didn’t see the very first episode so that probably didn’t give me an advantage in understanding the intricate questions of LOST and I think I started watching it at the end of second to beginning of the third season. At first, I didn’t like it but then with mom’s I started to like it but I NEVER liked the blood and killing part of it (I still don’t). Each season was unique because Season 4 was the freighter and then season 5 was the Dharma Initiative and being in time travel and finally season 6 was about the Man in Black, Jacob and the killing of the Man in Black and trying to kill him without the MIB killing the survivors.

By the end of the last scene of the final episode of LOST, they have created new questions and have barely answered any old questions. I wish they came up with another season in which they explain everything and leave no question unanswered! The final episode was great but the final thirty minutes involving the sideways timeline were a little confusing which annoyed me and the final thirty minutes was where they created all the new questions.

I’m sad that it is over but who knows they might make a movie or a second series called LOST 2 in which Hurley and Ben stories while on the island after season 6 ends are told. That would be awesome.

Please comment on this post because I really want to know what you thought about LOST. Okay well, it’s really hard to write a huge blog on something you like. Is it not? :p

Why I am saying this is because in a few of my classes (Functions, Foods and Nutrition Science, Writer’s Craft and sometimes Accounting) or maybe more than a few (lol), the teacher sometimes gives work periods and the majority of the students just keep talking and make it hard for me to focus. This is especially bad in Foods where 90% of the students are talking while I am working. Ahhh and the talking students are in this class also. What a drag! Then whenever I want students to be less talkative, and i ask them to please be quiet, they don’t listen. Then I have to go to the teacher and she has to quiet them down which I appreciate but then I’m labelled as a tattletale which so DAMN ANNOYING because it was your fault for talking so don’t call me a tattletale. This is labelled as a rant but this is what I believe and I’m not just ranting, i’m speaking what I believe.

I believe that students should be more considerate and text each other their conversations so that they don’t disturb people who are actually trying to do good in the course so here the deal: all you students who talk, JUST SHUT UP and be considerate of others. X(

At the conference, we learned some information on business attire and business casual and what kind of clothes define these. In addition, we learned about etiquette and some table manners and how it is IMPORTANT to have these when a huge CEO or executive comes to the company. In addition, when a CEO or high executive comes, it is recommended that you wear a suit so that you show a good image to the visitor.

For food, there was a light breakfast and a huge lunch, very impressive. I had some cereal for breakfast and had only pasta for lunch but the whole conference was definitely worth $10 and I would go again but I won’t be going again. :0 Oh well. Even though I only had pasta doesn’t mean that there was only pasta. No, actually there was vegetables and some chicken and other food items that I didn’t pay much attention to. Well, this is pretty much a summary of what happened today. Hope you liked it.

So as you can probably tell from the title of this post that I am a Pittsburgh fan (not a diehard one but one nonetheless) but I am also a Montreal one so when it came down to the two of them battling each other in the Quarterfinals (I believe), I had to support Pittsburgh. My parents of course supported Montreal because they were Canadian. It is not the team of Pittsburgh that I support, it is Sidney Crosby because I think he is an awesome player. He has won the Stanley Cup last year, won the Olympics Gold medal game for Canada in February and won at the International level being on Team Canada. I supported Pittsburgh when they played Ottawa in the first round and all I really wanted Montreal to do in the Playoffs was eliminate Washington and they did that which is awesome. I wanted Pittsburgh to eliminate Montreal because Pittsburgh had a good chance of making it to the finals but things didn’t go their way last night because of Fleury and how he was terrible. Too bad they realized it after Montreal had scored 4 goals lol

Now for the second part of the title “OH WELL.” I am sad that Pittsburgh didn’t win but I am happy that at least there is one Canadian team left and I wish Vancouver hadn’t lost to Chicago but so be it. I just hope now that Montreal has eliminated Pittsburgh that they continue on to win the Cup as a Canadian team.

Now that Pittsburgh has been eliminated, players like Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and others can go to International Championship in Germany to play for their countries. Sidney Crosby better go play for Canada now because Canada needs some good players if they hope to win the Championship in Germany. :p This is why I said oh well in the title.

Let’s start with advantages: Being in a full year school means NO MIDTERM Exams which is great, you have a class every second day except if before and after a weekend. I actually think that there is more disadvantages to going to W-O than advantages. Wow!

Disadvantages: Even though there is no midterm exams, there is still going to be lots of final exams worth between 10-30% of the final grade which is bad, having 7-8 courses at one time is really bad when you have to do around 7-8 culminating activities for those courses and they all are usually due at almost the exact same time. In addition, having class every second day is awesome but you could have like 4 tests on one day (I have had 3 tests). I can’t really think of anything else but if you the reader can come up with something, COMMENT!

Hey everyone, this is a blog about one of my favourite Michael Jackson songs that is currently in my head called You Are Not Alone. I personally love the song because it is a love song and I am usually a fan of love songs but this one is beautiful and the music video for this makes the appeal for this even stronger for me. Even though his girl is far away, he is saying that she is not alone because Michael Jackson will always be in her heart. I just love it. Who else loves this song or actually heard of it? I am always singing this constantly because it is also very catchy and easy to sing. I always feel happier after singing something by Michael Jackson. Who else sings Michael Jackson?

I have been going to YD for in-class lessons since the last month as the majority of the class should know if not and while driving on my last in-car lesson, my instructor Sandy (man) told me that if you go over the speed limit anywhere on your road test by EVEN ONE STUPID KM, you fail right there on the spot. Knowing this now, I have to ask, who else in the class thinks that this is extremely stupid because it’s not like most people stay UNDER the speed limit, and they are usually 10-20 over the speed limit. I think that they should change the test so that you can go over by ONLY 5 KM but if you pass that, you fail. I think that this is a lot more reasonable. Who agrees? There are so many things that can make you fail on the spot, like giving away your right of way even if you are doing awesome, going over the stupid speed limit and i’m sure that there are other things too.

I have been driving for a while now and I am getting better. One problem though with me is that I have a lead foot meaning I go too fast when I’m not supposed to and I press the accelerator too much. I am always cautious of going 10-20 over the speed limit because of lurking policeman that are hiding just to catch speeders. My parents always tell me to slow down and that I can’t see the speed limit change signs. Who else has the problem of having a lead foot? Well, I think this sums up HOW DRIVING AS A TEEN CAN BE SO STRESSFUL!!! Oh never mind, I missed one detail.

I always hate being told that if I went on my parent’s insurance that it would go up by $3000-$6000 without anyone actually knowing how I actually drive and if I deserve a lower insurance rate. Why do innocent drivers who actually drive good, have to pay for stupid drunk teenage idiot drivers (mostly males) who love having teenagers in the car and speeding and causing trouble? Just writing about this is making me annoyed because It is so true and I just want to scream at those idiots. I want my rate lower!!! I don’t want to have to pay for other people’s mistakes and other TEENAGE idiots. Who agrees with me about this paragraph? X( NOW, I believe this sums up driving as a teen and how it can be stressful or at least for me.
